The Brian Watkins Memorial Foundation will award scholarships to qualified graduating seniors from Provo High School, and Timpview High School.

Applications must be submitted no later than April 17th 2024

Before completing the online application you will need:

  1. A digital copy of your high school transcript
  2. A one page letter telling the committee why you should receive the scholarship. The letter should include an explanation of how you meet the scholarship’s requirements of academic excellence, financial need and athletic participation.

A Scholarship fund has been established in the memory of Brian S. Watkins, a 1968 graduate of Provo High School. During his time at Provo High, Brian was a member of the tennis team, becoming both the region and Utah State Tennis Champion. After high school, Brian received a tennis scholarship to Idaho State University, where he was awarded the Sam Bennion Most Inspirational Tennis Player of the Year. Sadly, Brian’s life was cut short when he was murdered in New York City in 1990, yet through this scholarship fund, Brian’s love of athletics and academics will live on.

Applications will be screened and the winners will be selected by the Scholarship Committee of the Brian Watkins Memorial Foundation. The amount awarded for 2020 will be $4,000 per scholarship. Awards will be paid directly to the institution of the recipients choice. Winners must notify the Foundation of the choice of school no later than Thursday August 1st 2024.

Thank you for your interest, and good luck!
